At Bowie Women's Lacrosse our mission is to promote academic and athletic excellence in young women. Through the sport of lacrosse, we strive to build confidence, self-esteem, and leadership by fostering teamwork, discipline, and commitment.
Our Booster Club has 4 meetings per year -- 2 per semester. Our meetings are typically held via Zoom and sometime in person at the Bowie campus. Meetings will include a financial report, vote on changes to our bylaws, vote on our fiscal year budget, discuss the tournaments, uniforms and any all team events and functions. We welcome involvement from everyone.
Your booster club officers welcome involvement from ALL our parents! If you have a specific skill or talent you want to lend to the group, if you just want to be more involved but are not sure where you’re needed, or if you have an idea for an easy fundraiser or anything else that may benefit us, please contact a Booster Club Board member.
Our fundraisers for this fiscal year include Business Sponsorships at varying levels, our booth at Bulldogs & Hot Dogs (scheduled for Saturday, August 23rd from 5-8pm at Bowie), various ‘Spirit Nights’ at local restaurants throughout the school year and corporate sponsorships. Money raised through our fundraising efforts is used to pay our coaches, field rental for home games, tournament registration fees, and other operating and equipment costs.
Typically, the team will have a December Holiday Party, dinners and other team bonding activities. We also have an End of Year Banquet where we honor our coaches and players.
Board Of Directors
The Bowie Women's Lacrosse is a 501(c)(7) non-profit organization which is governed by our bylaws. Executive board members are nominated by committee and voted on at our end of year banquet. We have several volunteer opportunities for our parents including committee chair positions and game day administration duties for our home games each season. Booster Club members vote to approve our annual budget and financial reports are presented by the treasurer at booster club meetings.
